Oh, hey guys!

It's official.  I love my baby WAY more than my blog.  And as if that weren't noticeable enough (given the month-long hiatus), this post is going to be pretty short because it's almost midnight and my sleepy eyes are starting to close as I type.  Let's do a quick recap of the last month...

I'm back at work full-time.  Luckily, I get to work from home 2 days a week and it's working out great, as long as my precious little boy will actually take his naps.  Today he took a 2 hour nap in the morning and then slept a grand total of 1 hour (2 30-minute naps) the rest of the day.  Little stinker.  I've been terrified of posting this next sentence, for fear that as soon as I say it, I'll jinx myself.  Wyatt is a great little sleeper at night.  He has been sleeping through the night (8-10 hours) since he was 5 weeks old.  I'm told this is quite unusual.  I credit Babywise (yes, I'm one of those moms), Wyatt's laid back temperament, and the Infant Benadryl I slip him every night before bed.  (I'm kidding, I'm kidding...the only thing that's ever been in his mouth other than milk is his gas drops.)  Here he is all ready for bed in his matching little bear hat:

And luckily, he's still as snuggly as a little bear when he sleeps.

By the way, I've learned that it's really difficult to lose the last of the baby weight when all you eat is sugar.  Maybe it's because I'm nursing, but it seems that all I ever want to snack on is sugar.  Candy, candy corn, candy canes, and syrup.  Just kidding, that's a quote from Elf.  But I'm serious about the candy corn.  And probably candy canes before long.  And anything else starting with the word "candy" or with a sugar content significantly above the daily recommendation.  Especially ice cream.  And chocolate.  And cookies.  You get the point.  Moving on...

Wyatt had his 2 month check up (almost a month ago now--sheesh!) and weighed 11 lb, 7 oz and was 23 3/4 inches.  He's right at 50% for weight and a little over 75% for height.  It looks like he's going to be built more like a Ward than a Baird, but I guess it's a little early to know for sure! :)  He also got the dreaded shots at his last appointment, but he took them like a champ.  I'm pretty sure I cried more than he did.

He smiles all the time and has started giggling randomly.  He thinks Sam is pretty hilarious.  Tonight I came home from meeting some of my best girlfriends for coffee and Wyatt & Sam were just sitting on the couch laughing at each other.  It was pretty much the sweetest sound I've ever heard.  I absolutely ADORE his little laugh.  He also rolled over last week!  Twice in a row from his tummy to his back!!  He hasn't really done it since, but at least we know that he can whenever he decides he wants to again.  He's getting pretty good at holding his head up and looking around during tummy time too.

Well, my iPhone just died and that's what I was using to send pictures to post on here, so I'll leave you with one more before I sign off tonight.  I took this one a few weeks ago--I think it was either 8 or 9 weeks--but since my phone is dead I can't know the date for sure.

And now I'm off to bed before my little human alarm clock wakes me up in 7 hours.  I'll update again with more recent pictures soon.  Maybe.

  1. I'm a Babywise mom, too! Wyatt is super duper cute and I can't believe that he's rolling over already! Wow! What an advanced little boy!

  2. Crislyn,
I can't begin to tell you how envious I am of your little sleeper. Tyce is like an engine that never...ever...ever...stops! He wakes up at least 4 times each night, and might take one good hour nap during the day, and a couple quick cat naps. Crazy!! I read Babywise and tried it, but I think it really has a lot more to do with temperament than anything (just my opinion). Supposedly Alan was a baby that just never slept, and so was my brother-in-law. They are still this way to this very day! Yiiikes!
I am so happy to see pictures of him. I've been wondering what that cute little cuddly bear had been up to.
Love you and miss you busy Momma!

  5. We use Babywise too!! IT WORKS!! Kaison is 3 and I can probably count the number of times he has gotten up in the middle of the night (except for being sick) on one hand. It is wonderful. Both of my kids starting sleeping all night at 8 weeks and continue to be great sleepers in their own beds!!

  6. He is too cute! Babywise is my baby bible! I have already started recapping it for #2 just to make sure I didn't forget anything. Henson has slept awesome since 5 weeks too.
