I know, I know...

I feel the need to post really quickly just to acknowledge the fact that I haven't posted in almost 3 weeks.  I blame the holidays.  And the cold weather that is making our internet at home kind of spotty.  (Who knew that could even happen?!)  And my laziness in general.  I know the blogging world traditionally has "Random Thoughts Thursdays", and I THOUGHT about posting yesterday, but obviously that didn't happen.  So here are my Random Thoughts for Friday:

1.  I try not to be negative on my blog (and generally in life), but I need to just take a quick minute to complain about how much I HATE the Kay Jeweler's commercials.  They are so incredibly cheesy and stupid they make me gag whenever they come on.  And I'm fully aware that it's completely unhealthy that a dumb commercial could stir up such feelings of hatred and loathing inside of me, but that specific commercial with the the couple in the storm just KILLS me.  I seriously want to punch the TV whenever it comes on.  I told Sam if he ever buys me anything from Kay Jewelers it's going back.  Ugh.

2.  The heater at our house (as well as the internet) has NOT been dealing well with the cold weather.  Sam and I have spent about 50% of our time at home the past few days taking turns messing with the thermostat, checking to see if warm air is still blowing out, putting on additional layers of clothing, and subsequently shedding said layers of clothing when the stinking thing DOES decide to come out in full force.  Let's all just keep our fingers crossed that the sweet little heater just keeps on truckin' so we don't wake up as popsicles anytime in the near future...

3.  I think the holiday Hershey's kisses are just fabulous.  I currently have 3 varieties in the candy dish in my office and they look so pretty because they are all different colors!  I would have to rank them in the following order: 1) Chocolate Cherry,  2) Mint Truffle, and 3) Candy Cane.  Candy Cane only gets voted last because it's white chocolate, and everyone knows white chocolate is not REALLY chocolate.  And the Chocolate Cherry kisses are quickly dwindling away, thanks to a certain co-worker who shall remain nameless :)  Does it sound like I'm kind of obsessed with chocolate?  Why yes, yes it does.  And I am.  Here's a picture of my yummy candy dish for your viewing pleasure...

All of you blog friends at OC, feel free to stop by anytime and get you some of this chocolate kiss yumminess!  Stay warm out there and I'll try to post again before 2010.  No promises though...

Falling Into Fall...

For the past several weeks, I've been trying to get Sam to get out in the front yard and help me rake up the plethera of leaves that have been accumulating into 3 foot drifts in various sections of our yard.  We only actually have ONE tree in our front yard (compared with the 4 in the back...) but we are at the end of a hill with a lovely fence (insert slightly sarcastic tone) bordering our front yard, so I'm pretty sure our yard catches about 95% of the leaves that fall from ALL of the trees on our entire street. Sam kept saying he wanted to wait until "the leaves are all done falling" but I just couldn't stand not seeing my flowers, shrubs, yard anymore, so Sunday afternoon I got out there with the rake and he reluctantly joined me.  I forgot to take a picture of what the yard looked like before the raking commenced, but I guarantee you that you could see NOTHING but leaves on every level of our flower bed.

Here's a picture of the MOUNTAIN we raked up just in the front of the front yard (we haven't even touched the side of the house or the backyard yet).  Please note the look of sheer elation on Sam's face.

Right after I took the picture above, my man-child husband's attitude shifted 180 degrees as he realized that he had an incredibly huge pile of leaves to use as a stunt prop.  And this is what ensued...

The Undisturbed Pile (and the aforementioned "lovely fence")

Sam's Dive #1: The Blur (I took the picture too late...)

Sam's Dive #2: The Burrough

Sam's Dive #3: The Pointed-Toes Olympian Dive

Sam's Dive #4: The Belly Buster (action shots on the iPhone aren't great...)

Sam lounging in his leaf heaven...

Zoey being really confused about what is going on in her front yard...

At the end of the day, we did manage to bag up over FIFTEEN bags of leaves before it got dark, leaving the front yard in a much more appealing state than before.  And I've decided that although we don't have kids yet, sometimes being married to Sam is like living with a big kid.  And I love it.  He is the best at making not-so-fun tasks a lot more fun than they ever should have been! :)

It's a Chili Night!

Okay, I have to admit I'm not really a huge fan of cold weather.  I'm definitely more of a summer girl (which I credit to the fact that I was born in July, am in love with summer vacation, and am obsessed with the beach), so when the weather gets cold I'm usually not very thrilled about it.  Today was no exception, although I decided to make the most of a cold and dreary day by making a warm bowlful of yumminess for dinner.

And considering there's not a lot of excitement to update on right now, I thought I'd share the recipe with you!  It's called White Chicken Chili and I got the recipe from one of my favorite Kansans in the world about 5 years ago when I was still in college.  (Oh wow, that just reminded me that I haven't been in college in FIVE years!)   My favorite part about this meal (besides the fact that it tastes oh so good) is that it is SUPER easy to make.  I mean seriously, who doesn't love a meal that only requires boiling some chicken breasts, throwing in a bunch of canned goods, and warming it all up to perfection.  YUM.

Here's what you need to make this quick, easy, and super delicious chili on a cold night like tonight:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts--boiled & shredded
2 lb. Velveeta (I use 2% because it's less fat than the regular Velveeta...God bless processed cheese)
2 cans pinto beans--drained
2 cans Ro-Tel
2 cans corn--drained
1 can chicken broth
Tortilla chips (for dippin')

Step 1: Boil the chicken until cooked through and shred with a fork.

Step 2: Combine chicken, Velveeta, and ALL cans into a big old pot over medium-high heat (stir frequently because that Velveeta likes to stick if you don't...)

Step 3: Heat until warm and bubbly and voila...

DELICIOUSNESS IN A BOWL!!!  I love this chili with tortilla chips...which obviously makes it even healthier than it already is.  But on a night like tonight, who couldn't use a few extra calories??!  :)  Enjoy!

Trick or Treat

So I don't really have anything great to write about tonight, but I realized I never posted my pictures from Halloween, so I thought I'd take a quick second to do that...

Obviously Sam and I dressed up as Mario & Princess Peach.  Thank you Amber, for the beautiful pink bridesmaid dress that I actualy got to wear again!  Thank you Steph, for the long satin gloves that you actually wore to your high school prom.  And a special thank you to the incredibly old pair of overalls that were hiding in a closet at my mom's house, without which Sam's transformation into Mario would not have been complete.  One highlight of the night included me running around the room dropping the gold "tokens" that Sam had in his pocket while he followed me around, picking them up and jumping in the air like Mario while making Nintendo sounds.  We are super cool.

As you can see, we were in the company of some great celebrities, including Kate Gosselin, Max and Carol from Where the Wild Things Are, the H1N1 Virus in human form, a creepy old priest and a little "boy", a Cardinals baseball player, and Conrad Prugh, as himself.

Here's a pic of the girls...I felt the need to carry the star with me all night, otherwise it just looked like I was playing dress up.  Props to Rachel for the best homemade costume and props to Amy for pulling off the "little boy" look and still looking super cute.  I tried to pull off the "boy" look last year and this is how it turned out...

So last year Sam and I dressed up as each other.  And I'm a little disappointed with myself that I actually uploaded this picture onto my blog.  Oh well, I'm going to hit "publish post" anyway. I definitely think this year's costume was a "one up" on last year's costume.  Get it??  "One Up"...like Mario Brothers?  WOW.  Okay, I'm done.  Happy Halloween...a week ago!

LYLAS...

So a few days ago I went by my Mom’s house to pick up a couple things and stumbled across all my high school yearbooks stacked up in my old bedroom. Obviously my mom is more than ready for me to get all my crap out of her house, especially considering I haven’t lived there at all for about 6 years, so I gladly took those off her hands. I got home and started thumbing through the yearbook from my senior year of high school, looking at pictures of people I don’t even remember being in school with, counting how many pages I was on, recounting old memories to Sam (who was oh-so-interested), and just reliving the glory days in general.

But then I started reading the backhanded compliments that people (okay, guys) wrote in the front and back on the beloved “Autograph” pages. By the time I was done looking through the yearbook, I was cracking up/slightly offended by some of the things people wrote. At the time it didn’t seem like any big deal, but looking back, some of the things these guys wrote were just downright rude. Here are a few examples, abbreviated by “blah, blah, blah’s” for everyone’s sake…

Yearbook Signature #1: “Hey Gorgeous, What happened to you over the last 2 years because now you’re a hottie…”

Okay, let’s just stop right there. “What happened to you…because NOW you’re a hottie”??! Obviously he’s not only implying that I was not a hottie before, but also that I was apparently repulsive for the entirety of my life leading up to my junior and senior year. The fact that he may have been right is neither here nor there, but what really matters is that he actually wrote that on the front page of my yearbook. RUDE.

Yearbook Signature #2: “Crislyn, Hey! It is I, the true essence of man. I must say, you have turned into quite the hottie this last year. Go figure. We have shared many memories, blah blah blah…”

Wait, wait, wait. Back that up. GO FIGURE?!?!?! And apparently since he views himself as the “true essence of man”, he’s practically implying that all members of the male gender were astonished with the fact that I could actually end up being an attractive human being. Narcissistic. And RUDER.

Yearbook Signature #3 (and my personal favorite, considering it’s written by someone I swear I don’t even know): “Crislyn, I’m glad I got to know you a little bit this year…blah blah blah…I don’t know what your future plans are…blah blah blah…I hope you have a great life and excel in everything you do. P.S. I think your friend Marie is HOTT but I never really got to know her very well so I don’t know about that.”

Translation: Hey Crislyn, I don’t really have a flipping clue who you are either, but I’m taking up ½ a page in your yearbook to write out empty compliments and say nice things to you, with an ulterior motive of trying to get you to hook me up with your best friend, Marie. RUDEST.

Now don’t get me wrong, Marie is my BFF and she has ALWAYS been absolutely beautiful. As a result, I grew up living out various versions of Scenario #3, which was not even a big deal. But the fact that some little chicken actually waited until we were about to graduate high school before attempting a last-ditch “hook me up with your best friend” yearbook stint is just pure entertainment. Poor boy. He’s probably playing Dungeons & Dragons somewhere by himself, trying to figure out a way to work up the nerve to finally ask a girl out. But then again, I guess I’ll never know, since I honestly don’t even know WHO he is.

I can’t believe it’s been almost 10 years since I graduated from high school. Now I’m a little concerned about going back to the 10 year reunion next summer. I don't know if I can take all the judgement!  Good thing I’m already married to a handsome, sweet, hard-working man. And so is Marie.

My 15 Minutes of Fame…Sort Of

As some of you know (or not) I am slightly obsessed with fonts. I love downloading new ones online, using fun fonts in documents, identifying fonts out in public, etc.  In fact, Sam thinks I’m super weird because every now and then we’ll drive past a store and I’ll suddenly yell out, “Tempus Sans!”, or we’ll go to a wedding and I’ll lean over to him and whisper “Scriptina” about the font on the program. (Speaking of Scriptina, it’s the font I found online and used on the top of our wedding invitations in 2006, and I’ve seen it EVERYWHERE since then! I’m not saying I invented the font or anything (we’ll get to that in a minute), but I definitely think I found it before it was a common household font.) All that to say, I love fonts.

SO, you can imagine my excitement when several months ago, a friend at work (Hi Teresa!) told me about a website I could go to submit my own handwriting to possibly be turned into a font. Well, I obviously jumped on the opportunity, submitting not one but TWO different handwriting samples, and lo & behold a few weeks later I got an email back from my new friend Amanda at Fonts For Peas. (Okay, we’re not really FRIENDS, but I’d like to think that our common love for fonts is an instantaneous bond!) She informed me that she was turning BOTH my handwriting samples into fonts and needed to know what I wanted to name them. All the fonts on her site start with “Pea”, so I appropriately named them “Pea Crisby Funky” and “Pea Crisby Neat”. Original, I know. I can’t figure out how to import my own fonts into my blog yet, but I will figure it out one of these days! For now, here is a picture I just took from Microsoft Word of my 2 handwriting fonts:

I love, love, LOVE them. Okay, so skip forward several months. Today my friend Jill (who has informed me will be starting a blog in the very near future…super exciting!), asked me how to set up a cute blog. I referred her to The Cutest Blog on the Block site, where I created the template for this blog. I clicked around a few seconds and my heart nearly stopped beating when I saw this. That’s right folks, my own “Pea Crisby Funky” font is now a title font for THE Cutest Blog On the Block! Don’t believe me? Click the link and compare it with this picture from my very own computer:

Crazy huh!?! I stared it at for a few seconds before realizing that the font looked eerily similar to my own, so I pulled up Microsoft Word, typed out the “Custom Blog Design” line and quickly confirmed that MY font is definitely being used by The Cutest Blog on the Block. I immediately got all giddy and started walking around bragging about my newfound “font fame” to anyone in my office that would listen, and decided that this definitely warranted a new post. So, in sum, I’m blogging about a font I created through a blog that’s now appearing on another blog that helps people’s blogs reach their full blog-potential. Blog blog blog. And now I will wait for the copyright to my font so I can become a multi-millionaire and spend the rest of my days designing new fonts…

Not something you see everyday...

So Sam and I were driving through Edmond yesterday and this guy was stopped right in front of us at a light:

I know it's not really clear (all I had was my iPhone), but if you can't tell, that is definitely a Crockpot strapped to the back of his motorcycle.  Undoubtedly this biker dude was headed home to make some homemade stew in his slow cooker for the mom he honors with the tattoo on his left bicep.  LOVE. IT.

Happy 3rd Birthday Beast!

As you may or may not be aware, our little family would not be complete without our little beagle monster, Zoey.  Zoey just celebrated her 3rd birthday on Wednesday, which means she is now of legal drinking age in dog years.  In lieu of alcohol for this momentous occasion, I took a little trip to Walmart to buy Z some fun new toys (which she promptly de-stuffed) and some new treats.  So, in honor of Zoey's birthday, I am posting in celebration for three years of potty training, walks, barking, hunting squirrels, (click here for an up close and personal look at one of Zoey's favorite pasttimes--WARNING: viewer discretion advised), and stinky, destroyed toys, socks, shoes, and a few other household items.   Here's a cute picture I took the other night of my favorite little animal:

Please ignore the pile of crap in the background...that's just a month's worth of bills, receipts, etc. that I need to file away.  Sam and I have NUMEROUS affectionate names for Zoey, but I'll name the top 5 for your viewing pleasure...

1. Beast
2. Monster
3. Zo-Beast
4. Zo Zo
5. Little Baby Doggie (that's Sam's "pet" name for her...I kid you not)

And here's a sweet picture of that "little baby doggie" and "little baby Sam" from back in December of 2006.  They both look so young!

Cute huh?  Someday I'm sure I'll post lots of pictures on my blog of our actual children who are not of the canine species.  Until then, this is what you get from a 20-something girl who is not yet a mama :)  You asked for a blog, people, so you get what you get.  Have a good weekend!!

Newsflash...

I would just like to take a quick minute to let the world know that H1N1 is not a long-term illness and you are not going to get Swine Flu from talking to someone who had it a week ago. Not only am I no longer contagious, but I HAVEN'T been for almost 5 days now. I have gotten the weirdest looks/comments from people ever since I returned to work on Wednesday. People, do you really think I'm ignorant or inconsiderate enough to expose you to my illness? I stayed in my house (quarantined, might I add) longer than the time my doctor said I would be contagious just to make SURE I didn't infect anyone else. When I chose to return to the outside world, I only did so because I was certain I was NOT contagious or sick anymore. In fact, today I...
  • Slept until 11 (not because I've been sick, I just LOVE sleeping in...)
  • Ate brunch at my mom's with Sam and the fam
  • Changed the sheets on both beds in the house
  • Switched my summer clothes out from my main closet to replace with the winter clothes from my back-up closet (yes, I accidentally have 2 closets right now. That will definitely change someday when we have a baby...I'm not pregnant, by the way)
  • Washed every item of clothing that has been used/worn/looked at in the past week
  • Swept, dusted, mopped, disinfected, Windexed, and gathered trash from every room in the house
  • Balanced the good ol' checkbook
  • Went to dinner with the hubby
  • Got 2 different baby gifts, a new dress, and 2 pairs of shoes (I love clearance!) at Target
  • Went to Starbucks and edited a paper for my brother
  • Watched the Office wedding from Thursday (and LOVED it!)
  • Updated my blog...that's TWICE in one week!

Now does that sound like someone who is sick to you? No way, Jose. Oh crap. I just realized I've turned into one of those lame bloggers who lists everything they do each day. My point is, I'm healthy, I'm happy, I'm alive. So if you see me in my public, just know that the Scarlet S has been removed!

The Scarlet S...

Hello friends. Without further explanation, let's take a look at the past 5 days of my life...
This picture was taken on Friday when I was happily leaving work, ready for the weekend, and super excited to realize that since I upgraded my iPhone, it now allows me to send pictures in text messages . (Please ignore the fact that I took AND texted this picture to Sam while driving. I think I may have been at a stoplight for part of it, at least...)
These are a few of the FOUR DOZEN homemade chocolate chip cookies that I baked on Saturday night, with full intentions of giving the majority away to various people this week (Sam's classmates, our neighbors, my co-workers, etc.)

This is a picture I took of myself when I walked into the doctor's office on Monday morning for what I thought to be an appointment to get some medicine for a sinus infection. Apparently when you call and complain of "flu-like" symptoms, they decide it's imperative that you slap on a degrading mask and shamefully march through a waiting room full of people NOT wearing masks. The least I could do to keep from crying was to take a picture of myself in the waiting room and email it to my mom. (Insert picture below). And yes, my glasses kept fogging up repeatedly...and a small child kept pointing and laughing at me. It was one of my more dignified moments...

This is me looking disgustingly (and disgusting) at the camera when I took another self-portrait, only this time AFTER finding out that I, indeed, tested positive for H1N1. I feel like a lousy, pathetic excuse of a human-being for contracting a virus originating from pigs. It's gross. Just gross.

And this is where I've been spending the last 2 days in quarantined solitude while I wait out the required 48 hours for the Tamiflu to make me uncontagious to the outside world.

Here's a close-up of my "sick station". Please note the essentials: Kleenex, 3 remote controls (for 3 different entertainment devices), my MacBook, headphones, RedBox DVD's, TamiFlu, my inhaler, and Purel. Yeah, that Purel has obviously been working SO well for the past few weeks...

At the moment I'm starting to feel a little more alive, so I decided to blog about my experience with the dreaded Swine Flu for the rest of you healthy people out there. I'm anxiously awaiting my re-emergence into the outside world of life, hopefully tomorrow. Until then, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the 44 Swine-flu infested chocolate chip cookies I baked a few days ago. Any takers??

2009 Summer Recap

Hello again to all my fellow blogworld friends (all 3 of you that actually read this blog...) Once again, I forgot I had a blog until my BFF Marie reminded me that I desperately needed to update. (Marie, I'm gonna go ahead and give you a shout out, but I'd also like to point out that I'm still waiting for you to even CREATE a blog.) That being said, even though I haven't updated in over 3 months, I still frequently blog-stalk most of you. I just find it much more interesting to read about your funny lives then bore you with the details of my own!

I feel that I owe it to my blog, however, to upload some pictures which may aid in explaining why I've been so incredibly neglectful in posting regularly for the past several months. Sam and I definitely lived it up this summer and had a fantastic time traveling all over the place. Here is a quick photo recap of our summer, starting with...
Last Minute Road Trip to the Grand Canyon & Las Vegas
We decided on a Friday night to drive west, rented a car, packed up some snacks, and left on Sunday morning... Highlights of the trip included watching the sunset & sunrise over the Grand Canyon (after sleeping in the car that night--who wants to pay $100 for a hotel room for 7 hours when you can sleep in a parking lot for free?!), spending 2 days in Vegas without spending a dime in the casinos (that's not to say I didn't spend a pretty penny at H&M though!), and driving in the car with my beloved hubby for 32 hours (roundtrip). It was totally last minute and lots of fun, here's a brief overview...

At the Grand Canyon (duh!)

Good one, Sam. He's such a jokester... :)

At the Hoover Dam & Lake Mead

New York, New York

The Strip at Night

Sam posing at a fountain behind The Flamingo

This tray of fish & chips was purchased in New York, New York for $15...and we ate it ALL.

In front of the fountain show at The Bellagio (sorry you can't actually see the fountains...)

Camp Pettijohn Springs
Sam and I joined the staff of Camp Pettijohn to work as counselors at MRCC's Senior High Week of camp. Highlights include our wonderful family of super fun campers (Yay Family 7!), getting second to last place in the week's sports competition (I'll take full credit for that accomplishment), and sweating it out everyday in 100+ weather. I'm not kidding...it was at least 100 degrees every single day...but still a great week!

Family 7!

FOSHAB Weekend

The day camp ended, I actually met Amber & Mandy at a truck stop off I-35 on the way back from camp to turn around and head back south to Dallas for a weekend with my girls from college for a FOSHAB reunion at Jill's cute house in Denton. We enjoyed a fun & relaxing weekend of chatting, laughing, laying out, getting pedis, and playing with Diana's precious baby, Benjamin. I wish we could get together more often...I can't believe we've all been out of college for FIVE years. CRAZY...

Getting pedicures & LOVING it!

WICKED

As mentioned in a previous post, Sam surprised me with tickets to Wicked for our anniversary, which we THOROUGHLY enjoyed in Tulsa at the end of July. The show absolutely impressed us both more than we thought it would--if you haven't seen it, you really should. I don't have any pictures, however, because they did not allow cameras inside. Sorry...

My 27th Birthday
We celebrated my birthday with our families at Mimi's Cafe for a birthday dinner before heading to the airport at 4:30 the following morning for our vacay to Mexico (more about that in a minute), but I have such an incredible family and am so thankful for all the lovely gifts people gave me. Consider this my thank you note to each of you, since I had the fullest intentions of sending out thank you notes to everyone, (I even bought cute new thank you cards and everything), but let's face it, that's not going to happen this year... I don't have any pictures of this momentous occasion, either :(

All-Inclusive Mexico Vacation
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Swine Flu & the ensuing media frenzy which scared off travellers to Mexico to such a degree that we snagged a 7 night, all-inclusive vacation (including air, airport transfers, etc.) for about 1/3 of what we would have normally had to pay for such a trip. Obviously avoiding travel to Mexico really stopped the Swine flu, I mean H1N1, epidemic from sweeping through the US (insert sarcastic tone). We had a fabulous time laying on the beach, eating lots of yummy food (and subsequently joining Weight Watchers after returning), laughing with Matt & Bailey, and frequenting the restroom. That's all I'll say about that...

Our beach at the Catalonia Riviera Maya...the water was beautiful!

Sam drinking from a coconut he actually pulled off a palm tree at the resort...I'm not kidding.

Sam and MJ playing sand volleyball with the other resort guests.

The 4 of us before our DELICOUS dinner at the Japanese Restaurant, Mikado.

Sam wearing a "luchadore" mask that he tried on at a market, and then subsequently developed a skin fungus from. I'm totally kidding. But I can't figure out how to rotate this picture...

Overlooking the beach at the Italian restaurant we dined at...

Showing off our tans/burns (Sam) and greasy sunscreen faces...

Cheesy picture of us being in love...

Camping Trip to Missouri
2 weeks after returning from Mexico, we once again loaded up and headed to Salem, MO for a super fun camping trip with Nate, Lindsay, Matt, & Ryan. Highlights of our camping trip include floating the river for 6 hours, laughing hysterically at Matt at the campfire, enjoying the nice, cool weather of MO (as opposed to the blazing heat of August in Oklahoma), and stopping at Lamberts for an old-fashioned, home-cooked, roll-throwin' meal (see WW comment above). I don't have any pictures from this weekend either, because Lindsay was much better about taking pictures than I was...

So there you have it, folks. We really had an incredibly fun (& busy) summer that we wouldn't trade for anything. The day after we got back from camping, I immediately jumped right back into work and the new recruiting cycle (college fairs, school visits, campus visits, Fall Visit, lots of visits...) and Sam started back to school (he's acting like such a dentist these days). Hopefully you'll be a little merciful about my lack of blogging for the past several months, but as work starts to slow down just a bit, hopefully I'll be a bit more consistent about updating this blog. If not, you can look forward to another MASSIVE post in December highlighting all the things Sam and I do between now and Christmas! :)

Random afterthought: This post just took me nearly 3 hours to complete. Either I REALLY suck at blogger, or this stupid website is really difficult to use. Either way, this reiterates the reason why I only blog quarterly, people.

Some really sweet gifts and...Sonic???

So I went out to Camp Lu Jo last night to see Sam on our anniversary, and he surprised me with a serenade of "You Are So Beautiful..." in front of the entire camp. I was SOOOO embarassed. Normally I'm fine getting up in front of people when I'M the one talking, but not when I'm being serenaded. Haha. It was really sweet though. He also gave me these...

Some of these...

And this...

That's right--tickets to Wicked in Tulsa next month!! I'm SO excited...I've been wanting to see Wicked for a REALLY long time now, and I missed it last time when they were in OKC. Sam is such a sweet husband--I'm so lucky and I can't wait for him to get back home! (Okay, enough mush...)

The funny part of the story is that Sam got me all of these sweet gifts, and what did I take out to camp for HIM for our anniversary? This...

Yes, that's correct. All I took him was a Watermelon Cream Slush from Sonic!! I didn't KNOW we were going to exchange gifts out at Camp Lu Jo, and I felt really bad. He didn't seem to mind though, I think the Cream Slush was exactly what he needed after a long day of Oklahoma heat & loud, sweaty campers. All in all, it was a really fun night! (And the car ride the whole way there and back was great too--thanks to Ashley for keeping me company the whole evening!!)
