On A Roll...

The title of this post is a pun, and it is certainly intentional.  This past weekend, Sam & Zack (my brother-in-law) were assigned the task of being the emcees at the annual Camp Lu Jo KISMIF benefit auction in good ol' southwestern OK.  After a weekend of incessant rain, the auction was moved last minute from the camp to a church in Lawton.  There was a silent auction and a live auction, and Sam worked as the auctioneer for the live auction...

Sam and Zack both did a great job entertaining the crowd and keeping the auction moving along, and I did a great job of bidding on things, if I do say so myself.  I thought two of the funniest things they auctioned off in the live auction were a pistol and a knife (I didn't bid on either), but that's because I'm a "city girl" (as much of a city girl as you can be in Oklahoma) and forgot that them there country people in them there parts actually use such items in daily activity.  Both the knife & the gun brought in some great revenue--all for the sake of keeping Camp Lu Jo running and glorfiying the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen.

I realized at the end of the night that when you take a pregnant girl to an auction, you're going to end up with some funny stuff.  Case in point, this is what we left with at the end of the night...

That's right...a dozen homemade rolls and a dozen homemade cinnamon rolls.  Oh, and don't forget the Clash of the Titans poster that Sam bid on and ended up with THREE.  If you need a Clash of the Titans poster, please let me know.  And if you need any homemade, carb-loaded, yummy treats, SORRY.  They're MINE.  I might consider giving you one of the burnt rolls on the edge though.  But probably not.  Don't worry, karma will catch up with me next week when I weigh in at my doctor's appointment and get the raised eyebrow look from my doctor once again for my pregnancy weight gain...

But for now, it's totally worth it.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have a homemade roll calling my name...

Excuse Me...

But does the countdown on my scary floating fetus ticker really say, "92 days left" until this baby is born?!?!  Oh.  My.  Goodness.  Where is the time going?   I sure have a lot to do in the next 3 months...

I know most of you are thinking, "Wow, Crislyn blogged more than once in a week!  That's a new record!"  And it is.  But that's really all I have to say at the moment because I must get started on this week's tasks at work.  I will leave you with a random funny picture though, just because it's Monday and who can't use a good laugh on a Monday morning?

Yes, my friends, that is THE Matt Johns wearing a furry cat head.  A couple hilarious co-workers of mine (Jeremy & Katie) decided it would be funny to print off this incriminating picture of MJ and place it on the body of a poor, unsuspecting girl in a sailor dress from a black & white picture of OC students that was taken back in the 80's and is now hanging in my office.  Isn't it classic?  I love how everyone else in the picture appears to be looking & laughing at him.  And I take any opportunity I can get to embarass Dramatty, because I know secretly he loves the attention! :)  Haha.  Happy Monday everybody!!!  (And Matt, thank you for always being such a good sport about my incessant teasing. YOU are the one who took a picture of yourself wearing the cat head, after all...)

I got nothin'...

So I've been trying to rack my brain for the past week and a half to find something good for a new blog entry, and so far this is what I've come up with...

That's right.  Pregnancy brain has officially wiped away all of my creativity & originality.  I could talk about the SUPER fun things I've done for the past couple of weeks, but that basically consists of...

1. Eating
2. Sleeping
3. Working
4. Cleaning
5. Growing a baby
6. Developing pictures from 4 disposable cameras I found while cleaning out a drawer last week.

Okay, I know that last one SOUNDS like a promising entry...but considering the fact that the pictures are from DISPOSABLE cameras, I don't have any digital copies of the pictures to share on the blog at the moment.  (We opted out of getting a CD of the pictures, because of the additional cost involved and especially since we had no idea what was actually on any of the cameras.)  The cameras captured the following events...

1.  Underwater pictures from when Sam and I went snorkeling on our honeymoon.  Sounds exciting, but sadly 20 of the 24 pictures are of the sandy bottom of the ocean.  Beautiful, right?  Not so much.

2.  Fuzzy pictures of my family on a boat in Florida 2 1/2 years ago when we went swimming with manatees.  There are about 2 pictures of the actual manatees and a lot of blurry pictures of dolphins in the far-off distance.  (Remember, disposable camera = no zoom = horrible picture quality).

3.  Pictures of a Six Flags trip we took during the summer of 2005.  Some of these pictures were actually really cute, but I'm so skinny & tan in them it depresses me to look at them at the moment.  Maybe I'll actually get some of those scanned in at some point in the future...like when I've lost the baby weight & actually have a tan again. :)

4.  Random pictures of random people at a random event somewhere random.  I honestly don't have a clue who or what is on the 4th roll that we developed.  I'm pretty sure it's from some sort of recruiting event for work from many years ago, but I don't have a clue why I ended up with the camera.  Oh, and did I mention that all of these pictures are messed up?  One half of the picture is cut off & replaced with half of the next picture on the roll.  Needless to say, I'll probably be making a trip back to Walgreens in the near future to get my $5.22 back for that roll of film.  At least they're not messed up pictures from some extra special event or something!

Here's a picture I CAN leave you with though:

That's me at 26 weeks.  I can't believe I'm almost done with the 2nd trimester already!  Time is sure flying by...only 3 months until little Wyatt makes his grand entrance into the world!!  And that's all I've got, folks.  Sorry for the word-heavy entry with very few pictures.  Have a great weekend!
